The short version
The Noctuary is a fiction platform: you sign in with just your email, you talk with an AI-driven entity, and we keep enough of that conversation on file so it can remember you between visits. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show you ads, and you can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time.
What we collect
- Your email address — used only to sign you in (a passwordless “magic link”) and to reach you about your account. We never see or store a password.
- Your conversations — messages you send to an entity, and its replies, are stored so the entity can refer back to earlier context. We keep a limited, rolling window of recent history rather than an unbounded archive.
- Account and economy records — your Moonshard balance, purchase history, daily draw status, entity unlocks, and — if you subscribe to Moonkeeper Membership — your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
- Basic usage events — which entities you view or open a channel with, and when — so we can tell whether the product is working and keep it safe (see “Safety screening” below).
- Payment and subscription — if you purchase Moonshards or subscribe, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. We do keep, for billing support and fraud prevention, non-card records such as a Stripe customer/subscription identifier, the amount and date of a charge, and whether it succeeded.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the product. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account and conversation records live there.
- Anthropic processes your messages to generate an entity’s reply. Your message content is sent to Anthropic’s API for that purpose.
- Stripe processes all payments and subscriptions directly. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us; Stripe’s handling of them is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your conversations to train our own models.
Safety screening
Before an entity replies, your message passes through an automated safety check. Its purpose is narrow: to recognize signs of real distress and respond honestly and plainly rather than in character, and to point toward real help. This screening exists for your safety, not to monitor or moderate ordinary conversation.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, conversation history, and economy records for as long as your account is active. If you stop using The Noctuary, your data simply stays as it is until you ask us to remove it.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to: tell you what we hold about your account; correct anything inaccurate; or delete your account and everything tied to it. We don’t yet have a self-service button for this — email records@enternoctuary.com and we will handle it by hand, promptly. Deleting your account removes your conversation history, your economy records, and your email from our systems; it cannot undo a payment already processed by Stripe, whose own records are governed by their policy.
Children
The Noctuary is a horror-adjacent fiction product intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data — encrypted connections, access controls on our database, and secrets kept server-side. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t promise one that is; if something ever goes wrong, we’ll tell you.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. We won’t narrow your rights retroactively without telling you.
